What started in downtown Monroe nearly two centuries ago has grown into a beloved local institution, but our commitment to exceptional service and quality footwear has never wavered.

Five Generations of Expertise

Our story is one of family, tradition, and dedication. In 1992, Gregg Yaeger and Joel Whalen became co-owners of Yaeger's Shoes—but their journey with the store began much earlier. Both started at the bottom, cleaning ashtrays and working in the stockroom at our original downtown Monroe location. With the support of Gregg's parents, Michael and Lois Yaeger, they took the reins and became the fifth generation to carry forward this proud legacy.

Today, we're proud to continue the traditions dating back to 1846 while incorporating a modern twist. We honor the craftsmanship and personal service that built this business, while embracing new technologies and styles that keep us relevant for today's customers.
